Winter J. Smith, Pharm.D., BCPS received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, TX followed by a PGY2 residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. She is currently a Clinical Professor at the University of Texas at Tyler Fisch College of Pharmacy (FCOP), with previous faculty appointments at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and Texas Tech University School of Pharmacy. She is an inpatient internal medicine clinical pharmacist at Medical City Plano in Plano, TX, where she also serves as PGY1 pharmacy residency program coordinator and primary preceptor for adult medicine advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs). She is a practitioner surveyor for ASHP residency accreditation and a member of the ASHP Commission on Credentialing. Her current research and scholarly activities are in the areas of pharmacist candidate competency assessment and pharmacy residency training.
